Saturday Morning Scene

I'm Linking up with Katie for Saturday Morning Scene today!

My Saturday looks like this...
It's 10:45 and I am still in bed, waiting for Livvy to wake up! She has been sleeping really well and I am happy. Although it may look all nice and sunny outside in this pic...it is not. Mother Nature decided to be all hormonal and be all rainy. Yesterday and the day before...wonderful! It was 75 yesterday! If we can have more nice days I will be a happy camper!

Hope your day is sunny!
PS can anyone tell me how to put her "button" on here...I have tried and tried and it keeps telling me it can't save because there is a link error, how am I supposed to put it in? I have been just copying and pasting directly into the text box, is this wrong? Thanks in advance!

Seriously?!

I am linking up with Becky over at "From Mrs. to Mama" Where we talk about the things that made us go Seriously?! This week...here goes!

Seriously?! This week was Summer Solstice, now for all you non-Alaskan's out there, this might not mean anything to you but to us it means the longest day of the year and that we will now start losing sunlight. Ok, so the longest day of the year, awesome! Lots of sunshine right?! WRONG! It has been cloudy and nasty all week with the exception of yesterday (thanks Mother Nature)...last summer we set records for days of consecutive rain fall! Something like 28 days straight of rain...EWW! Now this summer is starting to look the same, Listen here Mother Nature...get your shit together!!

Seriously?! I have gained 9 lbs since we left for the cruise over a month ago! WTH? It's back to bars for breakfast and little for lunch and getting out and walking with my girl!

Seriously?! Kevin, Livvy and I, his mom and Dad and best friend and his girls have tickets for Sesame Street Live next month. Kevin and his friend have their annual dip-netting trip set for July as well...the same week as Sesame Street Live!! We have had this booked for MONTHS! Like I got on to ticketmaster and booked the tickets the day they came out (3rd row I might add!) He didn't even bother to ask if we had plans or look at the calendar! Not my problem buddy! You figure this one out!

Seriously?! When did Livvy grow up? She was walking down the hallway the other day and she looked like such a big girl...it made me want to cry! I don't like this one but and something needs to change! This little girl is not the same baby who was almost failure to thrive and not gaining weight 19 months ago!

Seriously?! I found Jem on the HUB channel! Kevin totally didn't understand what I was talking about or how excited I was! My neighbor who is younger than me by a few years didn't even know who she was! HUH?! Please tell me you know who Jem is!!

Ok...I think I am done for now! I hope to be back blogging (yes I say this everytime) more regularly and I still need to post about our Cruise! Geez, and Livvy and I are about to head off on a Mommy and Livvy trip home to Missouri to visit my parents and to go to my 10 year reunion...now that is a seriously?! as well!

I hope you all enjoyed it!

Jabber Jabber Jabber

Olivia really has a language all her own. I took this video last night and laughed so hard while taping it. She had been going on like this for some time before I videoed and went on for a while after wards...

I just love her! I hope you enjoy it too :)
Hilarious!

Saturday Morning Scene!!

Here we are again! A new Saturday Morning Scene...

I tried to "grab the button" but I don't know how to do it so if you wanna join in, link up with Katie over at Loves of Life...

Ok, our morning started out pretty good, no breaking of side mirrors lol! When I went in to get Livvy up, this is how her hair looked...

no, she doesn't have a mullet...it just looks like it here!

Oh my geez!! Her hair was crazy!! She has curly hair and we put her to bed last night with wet hair, not a good combination!

We had our breakfast and watched Max and Ruby, one question...where are Max and Ruby's parents?? I know I wouldn't let my kids run around like that, and Grandma comes for a visit every once in a while. HMMM??

I worked on some new bows for Livvy.
And got her Easter outfit ready for her to wear to see the Easter Bunny!!!
Then we headed to Sportsmans Warehouse to see the Big Furry Guy! I was so nervous that she would freak out when she saw him and I prayed that she wouldn't and she didn't Praise Jesus!!
Here she was wanting to push the buttons on the elevator...let me tell you a little story about this elevator. The bottom of it now contains my lens cap for my camera! Yup, it wouldn't be a good day with out me breaking, losing or damaging something!! I was trying to put my lens cap back on when the door opened, and it slipped out of my hands and rolled right the the tiny slot and into the elevator shaft! OH my! Thank goodness for Wal-Mart, they had a cheap-o replacement that fit!
 Waiting for the Easter Bunny...
OK, so not the best picture of her but at least she wasn't freaking out!!! She did great! She sat there and looked up at him and giggled and then just smiled! Luckily they took her picture too so she is actually looking at the camera in that one!

I had so many compliments on her outfit! It makes me so proud that I can make her clothes and everyone comment how cute they are :) makes my day!

After the whole lens cap fiasco I had to make a quick run to Wal-Mart to get the new lens cap and there the checker told me that ColorTyme was doing pictures with Elmo! Olivia LOVES Sesame Street...like she could seriously watch it all day long and not tire of it! And Elmo is her favorite! So off we went to ColorTyme...

She just loved on Elmo and wouldn't look at me at all!
I Love this picture of them, she was pointing at something but she looks like she is hugging him! Oh my this girl!! She just melts hy heart!
So that was our Morning! Hope you enjoyed it! I know we sure did!!

Saturday Morning Scene!

I am linking up with Katie from Loves of Life for "Saturday Morning Scene". This is new to me but I figured now that I have my new Camera...I should take some fun pics on it!!
Ok so my morning started out at 0dark30 aka 6:30 a.m. when Kevin was getting ready for work and I realized I had left our roast out to thaw all night. So I ran to check on it and luckily it was OK. Kevin suggested I go ahead and start it, so I rummaged through the cabinet and realized I had everything but a packet of brown gravy mix. :::ARGH::: So I decided to run to the store to try to make it back before he left at 7...in a rush to get out the garage door I smacked the side mirror into the garage frame and knocked off and busted the mirror!
So, yeah...that's how my morning started! Not good! Hubby was pissed and I was all kinds of worried about 7 years of bad luck haha!
I went back to bed and prayed that Olivia would sleep in. AANNDD She did! Until 10!! WOO HOO! So we got up and had some breakfast. When she was done I asked her to "pick" what she wanted to do today...

When she finally "picked" where she wanted to go...
...She pondered her decision a while...
...so while she pondered, I picked out and outfit for her...
...after she was dressed, I attempted to get a good picture of her...
...but obviously the excitement of her beloved red sparkly shoes won over a decent picture...
..."Olivia Look at Mommy!!"...
...instead she kicked her feet and watched the sparkles...
..."Olivia...LOOK at Mommy!!"...
...Oh this kid!!...
...FINALLY, one where she is looking at me...
We left for the baby and toddler fair and tootled around there for a while. I picked up a few things with her picture on it. You see, last year we went to this and they were looking for new babies to be on the new flyer for the fair, they picked her to be in it!! (can you blame them??)

There she is second from the left with the pink headband!
Here is the whole composition! This was (obviously) the flyer to show people where to put their tickets. I asked if I could have it for her baby book.
The picture was also on the fair map, and they will also put it along with the individual pictures up in the family birthing center!! I am such a proud momma!!
We took a tour of the birthing center and I'm not gonna lie...it made my uterus heart ache a little...OK a lot! I want another baby so bad but right now, I have got to get through this last year of school! We are thinking in November when Livvy is two we will start trying again.

When we came home the house smelled delish and our roast looked soo good!!

And that was our morning/afternoon! Hope you enjoyed it!!

Tangled?

No, this has nothing to do with the new Disney movie...this has to do with my husband, and his new desire to grow out his hair. You see, since I have known him, he has always had short hair. HELLO, he was in the Army when we met! But that was 9 years ago...Even after he got out, he has had short hair. Well, this last Hunting season was the last time he shaved his head. Now, it has gotten long enough to get tangled. Yesterday we had a huge wind storm (Not a new thing for Palmer, but when it happens in Anchorage it makes the news??) So he was working and wasn't able to wear his hat because it was too windy and it would blow off. So last night I hear him cursing and complaining, when I asked him what his problem was he tells me "my hair is so tangled". I had to laugh. I got out some detangler I had and sprayed it on his hair to help and he was still whining. MEN, such babies lol! So I told him to get the good thick conditioner and take a shower and use it. He told me he would just wait until the morning.
Then this morning, he calls me from work to tell me how "soft" his hair was since he slept with that detangler in his hair and using that conditioner. He may be a guys guy but he does have a feminine side to him. And that my friends is funny!
I am hoping that he comes to his senses soon and decides to get it cut...we'll see! He claims he is growing it out until this hunting season so it will be a year of growing out but we will see what he decides and how long it gets when he finally cuts it!

"Zat?"

This is Livvy's new word...it means "What is That?" She used it tonight when pointing to something on my face...I couldn't figure out what she was talking about..."Zat?...Zat?" Then she started blinking her eyes really fast...she was talking about my eyelashes! HAHA! Then, she proceded to touch them and pull on them. I guess she has never noticed before when I wear mascara (which sadly seems to be coming farther and farther between now a days). It was so cute! I love how she is starting to notice little things and trying to talk. Makes me sad that she is growing up too fast but makes me happy that she is using more of her vocabulary.

Alright, it's late (12:15) and I have been dreading taking off my makeup to go to bed (which is probably the reason I don't wear it very often...I would much rather crawl into bed and not have to worry about washing my face). I wanted to post about this so I can have a memory of it...she cracks me up!

G'night all!

7 Years!!!

Today (April 3) is Kevin and My 7th anniversary! 7 years!!!! We have been through a lot in the past 7 years, living on base, moving and driving from Missouri to Alaska, infertility and several big hills to overcome but we are still working on it and are so happy!

Let me tell you what this amazing husband of mine did for me today...actually, it all started a few months ago...
I have been drooling over wanting a new camera for a while now and finally looked at Costco and found a pretty good deal on a Nikon DSLR. I may have mentioned it to Kevin a few hundred times and he kept telling me it was impractical, I have two neighbors who are photographers, I didn't need that much of a camera...So, I saved my money and asked him if he would give me money towards the camera for our anniversary and my birthday (11 days after our anniversary). He never would agree to that and I still got the same response as before, I will remind you that he does a lot of wood working and has LOTS of expensive tools, what is a few hundred dollars towards a camera that I want?

OK, so last night, I was getting dinner ready, we were going to have steaks and I pulled them out of the freezer, thawed them out and was just getting ready to season them to put on the grill. They smelled horrible! I wasn't about to feed nasty meat to my family. Around that time, I heard the garage door open and Kevin was home, I opened the door to the garage and saw Kevin getting out of the truck with roses...I shut the door and yelled "I'M SORRY!!" He said, just don't open the door...I will come in, I have to hide something. He came inside and I said, "I'm sorry, I accidentally saw my anniversary gift" He said "What did you see?" I said "Roses" he got all upset, threw his hat on the floor and said "I can't ever get your anything nice and suprise you"...Now, I should let you know that I am not a huge fan of roses, just think they are too expensive for what you get, over rated I guess. Ok, back to the story...We decided to just grab a bite to eat since our planned dinner was ruined. I told Kevin I would head into Wasilla to get something. I headed out and called my neighbor Sam to tell her I had accidentally seen my anniversary gift, just then she says "Hang on, your home phone is beeping in..." I was thinking OK, Livvy got a hold of the phone and accidentally called Sam. Well, she was on the other line for a long time...I knew Kevin had something up his sleeve!

So last night we had a discussion about what I wanted for our anniversary, I told him again that I really just wanted money towards a camera. He told me it was impractical to give cash to your wife, in his exact words "I am not your Uncle"...point taken! So he told me that tomorrow (our anniversary) I could order the camera and just put the money I had saved up into the account. So today, I was up with Livvy and come back to bed, try to fall back to sleep and Kevin Says, "Good Morning!"...it was 6 A.M! I don't even think so! So he gets up and I turn on the TV because I just couldn't fall back to sleep. In comes Kevin with my roses and my anniversary card. "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!" He says! I turn the light on and notice that the roses are in a 2-liter pop bottle.

I asked Kevin why they were in a pop bottle, he said that was all he had, they were in a plastic sleeve thing and he didn't want them to dry out before he got them home so he found a bottle at work (The dump) and put them in there. I told him I have a vase, we can replace them.

Then upon further inspection, I notice that some of the roses are not very pretty, they are kind of falling apart, just not very pretty...how much did you spend on these flowers?
He tells me that he thinks they would look best out on the table, I told him to put them out there so I could go get his gift, he insists that I go put them on the table...then I knew something was up! So I walked into the Kitchen and there is a box covered in a blanket...I thought "well, that's too big to be a camera!" I thought maybe it might be an embroidery machine, since I may have mentioned it once or twice. I pull off the blanket and there it was...a big yellow box with Nikon on the front!!

I started bawling! I hugged him and just cried! Then he says, "did you see which one it was?" All I saw was Nikon, I didn't see anything else. It was the big kit...the kit with the camera bag, two lenses (one the standard lens, the other an ultra zoom) all kinds of how to DVDs! I was so excited! Then he tells me..."the roses were a ploy to make you mad because I know you don't like roses...I found them at work." OH MY GOODNESS! He found me roses in the dadgum dump!! I laughed so hard! He said everyone at work thought he was nuts for getting his wife flowers for their anniversary out of the garbage haha! Little did they know!
Oh and the reason he called Sam...was because the only camera the Costco he went to had was the floor model but he knew he had to have something, he wanted to see if she thought it was a good idea...which it isn't, so today we will head back into Anchorage and exchange out the floor model for a new one at the other Costco in town.

That man...he gets me every time! Thank you Jesus for giving him to me!!!!

Happy Anniversary Honey!! I LOVE YOU!!!

Here we were 7 years ago today! He has been home from Iraq for about 2 weeks, didn't even know if he was going to make it home ontime for our wedding, but he did!

Hope you enjoyed my gift and story as much as I did!

First Sunshine, now this...

I just posted the last post that was from Saturday, it has been beautiful here! Yesterday it was 50 degrees...today...it snowed!! Granted we can see our driveway again but still! Why tease with the promising warmth and sunshine only to dump on us again?

I am praying for a warm summer. Last summer...yeah we set a record for the most days of consecutive rain fall...I think it was 38 or something like that. It sucked BIG time! I think we had a total of 7 days of temps over 70...BLAH! The summer before, when I was about 6 months pregnant, we set the record for the highest temps. OH MY! I was miserable!!! I was a huge, sweaty, cranky beast! We spent every weekend out camping and most days had to stay in the camper with the a/c running! We don't have a/c in our house and so my outlet was the camper. A few times we drug the dogs down to the river to cool off...they wanted nothing to do with getting in the water but I'm pretty sure they would have suffered a heat stroke because of it. This summer...bring on the heat! I am down about 25 lbs from last year and am (thankfully) not pregnant so I am ready for some warm Alaskan days!

Speaking of heat...My parents are taking my sister, her boyfriend, Kevin and I on a Mexican riveria cruise WITH OUT Olivia!!! Don't get me wrong, I am going to miss my girl like something fierce but a whole week not having to worry about changing anyone, feeding anyone, bathing anyone, getting anyone to sleep but myself?! Oh yes please! If I want to lay by the pool all day long drinking margaritas diet sprite all day...I can! If I don't want to get up until noon...that's ok too! Oh my...we haven't been on a Vacation that didn't unclude staying with my parents at their house since our honeymoon 7 years ago! I am so excited to enjoy some sun, drinks and A L O N E time with the hubs! My parents have told us, the only thing they want to do "have dinner together" Hey...fine with me!

After we get home from Mexico, the next month, Olivia and I are headed to Missouri to see my family and for my 10 year highschool reunion (OMG I am getting old!!) I am so excited to have a girls trip just Livvy and mommy before I start my year long internship! We are going to swim, play, catch fireflys and enjoy the special time spent with Nanny and Gogga! So exciting!

Well, thats all for now! Hope it is warm where you are!!

It's a Beautiful day in the Neighborhood!

This past week has been BEAUTIFUL in Alaska! It has been in the mid 40's (remember this is Alaska...this is nice for us haha!) Yesterday I took Livvy out for our first walk of 2011!

Just getting started on our walk! In front is Pioneer Peak, my favorite mountain in the Valley...we are very fortunate to have mountain views from our house!

LOVE her face here...it was starting to get sunny and she didn't want to have her picture taken haha!

The next day it got even warmer! We went out for another walk and then came back home to play with the dogs outside! Livvy LOVED being outside! She squealed, sang and laughed the entire walk! When I was throwing the ball for Ottis she wasn't too sure about him, he kept coming over and dropping the ball and would bark and she was not happy about that haha! He also kept flinging water all over because it was so wet and she hated that...is she not my child or what?!?!
Here is Ottis waiting for me to throw the ball...
Macie enjoying a rawhide basking in the sunshine!

My pretty green eyed girl!
Waiting for Ottis to bring the ball back
Ottis retrieving the ball
Livvy with Pioneer Peak in the distance...I LOVE Alaska!!
43 Degrees is WARM for Alaska in March! We thoroughly enjoyed our day!

New Olivia Pics!

I don't know if I have ever mentioned that I have not one but TWO AMAZING photographers as neighbors (be very jealous!) They love to use Livvy as their models when they have new backgrounds and if I have a new outfit for her or just want pictures of her all I have to do it ask and they do it for me! I LOVE my neighbors! They are some of my best Alaskan friends and I am so thankful to have them in my life!

Anyway, the other day Katie, (Katie Cannon Photography) set up a "Spring Mini Session" for her friends and family to see if it was something she wanted to attempt with the public. Of course I had to take Livvy over :) Katie was doing an Easter theme. I had an outfit in mind that I had been wanting to make for her to wear for Easter and Connie (aka Grandma) offered to take her one day so I could have the whole day to sew, so I whipped up (haha! It took me several hours into the late evening to finish) her Easter outfit on Wednesday, Thursday night I made her bow, and Friday Olivia had her pictures taken...here are a few from her facebook page...enjoy!

Her dress pattern is a "Apron front knot dress" if you are into sewing look this pattern up on Etsy! So easy! Her pants are "Ruffle pants" these I looked up a tutorial on Youtube.  I am not a very good seamstress and am still learning and this was not too hard for me!

This one makes me smile :) It looks like she should be saying..."Wait, come back!"

My sweet baby girl! Oh my, this girl totally makes me melt!

I hope you enjoyed her pictures as much as I did! I will be posting A LOT more now that I have discovered how easy it is to post pictures to blogger when you use the right browser!

Good night all!!

Why didn't I think of that?!

I have been having a problem with Olivia's diapers being really stinky, even after they are washed and because of this she has been getting a bad rash. So I looked up how to strip diapers and I had tried pretty much everything that was said besides the Dawn dish soap trip. I finally got some blue Dawn and was prepared to start scrubbing but wasn't 100% on exactly how to strip the diapers, so I googled "how to strip cloth diapers" and a website came up that I hadn't seen yet. I clicked on it and was reading and it said to try just doing a few very hot washes with no detergent. I thought, what's the worst thing that can happen? The diapers are still smelly...what else is new? So today I did my normal wash and then threw in ALL of her diapers and the liners, I ran the hottest wash I could ran a warm wash twice and when I pulled them out I couldn't smell a thing! I had my nose all the way in the diapers and liner and nothing! Usually when I wash them and they stink I can smell them just by pulling them out of the wash I had my snout all the way in there and no smell! Now I ask you...WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT?!?!?

Our day so far...

Livvy has FINALLY started walking! YAHOO Miss! 15 1/2 months and finally walking! She is all over the place now :)
Now that that is out of the way...Livvy has been into everything! When I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING!! She likes to open all the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen. We have since locked up the cabinet with the chemicals in it and have bungeed closed the cabinet with my small appliances. Today it was awfully quiet in the kitchen, I snuck in and found her playing in the grease bucket! OH MY GEEZ! This Child! For the record, I keep an old coffee can under the lazy Susan and drain meat or cooking oil into it. Luckily this one was a new one and only had some oil from frying taco shells the other night but still! She was having a hay day in it! Needless to say I had to Dawn dish soap her hands and she got a good stern "NO NO!"
Then during nap time, I hear her playing, talking and squealing (not uncommon)...then I hear this blood curdling scream! I ran to her room and unzipped her crib tent (Her ped. told me I needed to let her sleep in a toddler bed because "you can't get to them as fast" when they have a crib tent...I had no problem getting to her!) I swooped her up, snuggled her until she started crying then tried to see why she was crying, didn't see anything until she turned her face the other direction...she had busted her eye! It was already swelling huge and turning purple! :::sigh:::: she is so her parents child! Kevin is a dare devil and I...well, I am a klutz! HUGE! I have lived in Alaska for 6 years and I still can not walk on ice! Put those two together, mix them up and you get Olivia! Who in her first 15 months of life has busted her lip more times that I can count, has numerous bruises from falling and running into things and now has her first black eye. Oye Vey! No wonder mom's need a drink at the end of the day haha!

Well, enjoy your day all! I get to go to Bunco tonight with Kevin's Mom and this weekend Kevin and I are going on a date night! I am so excited :) A movie, shopping, dinner AND a trip to Alaska cake studio Oh my!

Oh Olivia!

WOW! This month has just gotten away from me! Olivia is 14 months old and is such a funny little girl, there isn't a day when she doesn't make us laugh hysterically! Like right now, she is down the hall with her little push car toy just talking up a storm in "Livvy talk" we have no clue what she is saying but it sure sounds important haha!
We are house/dog sitting for our neighbors. Kevin and I usually go over at night to check on everything, feed the animals and try to get the dog outside. Well, the other night we put Livvy in her crib to play while we ran next door. I brought the monitor with me and left...no big deal, I do this if I need to take a shower, if I need to run outside really quick. It's just a safe place for her to play...or so I thought. I heard Livvy crying on the monitor but she stopped right after she started, didn't think anything of it. Then as we were walking back over I heard her screaming, like a panicked cry. I ran inside and her door was closed...I had left it open, I opened the door and there she was ON THE FLOOR! OMG! She had fallen/climbed out of her crib and on to the floor!!! She was panicking because she had closed the door and couldn't get out. Oh my! I was so scared but luckily she didn't hurt herself. We had to re-arrange her room because we are almost certain she climbed over the side of her crib, they are lower than the rest. I have spoken to several people about it and their comments were that we should put her in a toddler bed. My idea is that she is not ready for a toddler bed! She would be up all night playing with her toys, her shoes, her bows, diapers...everything! Neither one of us would get anysleep. Oh my! This weekend Kevin is going to work on something to put on the sides that will make it so she can't climb out that way. YIKES!!

OK Folks...I am getting on my soap box!

I just have a few things that have been on my mind here lately. This is my blog, if you don't agree that's fine. You don't have to read it. This is my opinion and my place to write what I want to write...OK?

OK First on my list...yesterday I dropped Kevin off for an appointment, so I decided to head to Wal-Mart to return a few things. Now, the weather has been unseasonably warm for Alaska standards. On a normal day in January in Alaska the temperature should be oh about 10-20 BELOW zero (this is our coldest month) we however have had temperatures in the upper 30's lower to mid 40's. It's warm for us Alaskans. Like T-Shirt weather warm! OK, back to my story...so while at wal-mart I see a girl (notice I said girl) no more than 17 years old. She has her daughter who is maybe a month or so older than Livvy in the cart wearing shorts and a tank top! SHORTS AND A TANK TOP PEOPLE!!! It is not that warm outside!!! I was sick to my stomach! I couldn't believe she would take her child outside like that, let alone in public! I should have called OCS right then and there! I can only imagine the lifestyle this child will have and it makes me so sad! People, take care of your children!! If you can't ask for help, if you don't care give them to someone who can take care of them!
Which brings me to my next issue...
Carseats, thanks to my wonderful neighbor Sam I have become the Jr. Carseat Nazi! I know how important it is to keep my child rearfacing. It only take 1/4 of an inch to break ones neck and in a wreck a forward facing child's neck can be stretched up to 2 inches and can cause internal decapitation. I know that a lot of people can't afford nice carseats, that's fine BUT if you can afford an inexpensive forward facing carseat, you can afford a convertable carseat folks! It is a proven fact that children are safest when they are rearfacing in a car accident. Convertible car seats even the cheap ones rearface to 40 lbs! Livvy's rearfaces to 45 lbs! Some countries in Europe it is a law that children be rear facing until the age of 3 some even the age of 4!! Ahh it kills me that people don't know this! Livvy will be rearfacing until 45 lbs OR until we have another baby. We will have to turn her around after a new baby because the only place the carseat will rearface in our vehicles is in the middle. We aren't going to try for another one until after she turns 2, which most say is when they can be turned around (supposedly the US is going to change the law for forward facing from a year to 2 years!). Another thing about carsearts, the thing that you clip you know...the CHEST clip, yeah, it's called a CHEST Clip for a reason, it is not called a stomach clip. They are supposed to be set at armpit level on their chest!! Keep them tight too, no not so tight that you are smothering them and they are screaming but tight enough that you can't pinch any of the belt. MmmmKay? Oh and please, don't put coats on your children in their carseats. Yes this is coming from a woman who lives in ALASKA! There have been documented cases of children being ejected from vehicles and their coats are still in the carseats. Seriously! Try this test...put your child in their carseat with a coat on, then take them out of the carseat but DON'T loosen up the straps take their coat off and put them back into the carseat. Now, see how much room they have? I can guarantee that there is a lot of room, more room than is safe. If you were to get into an accident with the coat on, that room is still going to be there and the chances of your child coming out are much greater. Please please take your children out of their coats. It could save their lives!
Alright now to the last part of my rant. Vaccinations! I know this is a touchy subject for some but it is one that really hurts my heart. I heard on the Today Show yesterday that there is an outbreak of Whooping Cough...wait a minute! Whooping Cough? Isn't that a vaccine you can get? Yes, yes it is! And because of this new worry of vaccinating our children we now are having more and more outbreaks of things like pertussis (whooping cough) measles, mumps...need I say more? I understand that a lot of people THINK that if you get your children vaccinated their children are going to become autistic because of a friggin shot! Well, there has never been any documented case of this happening. Autisim is something that ios developed over time, they are born with it. You can't catch it, you can't get it from a shot...it just doesn't happen that way. I am sure there are other reasons for not having your children vaccinated, more power to ya! I am soo thankful for my decision to having my child vaccinated. As much as it sucks that she screams, she may get a little cold afterwards she is healthy and isn't always sick. She was given all the antibodies that she needs to help her little body fight off MANY colds and other nasty germs that are out there.

I hope that you take something useful from this (hopefully it isn't that Stephanie is a crazy Bitch! LOL!!!) I love you all and your children and it makes me happy to help out someone who needs it.
